Paul Eymard signs his first professional contract
Midfielder Paul Eymard, who trained at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center, signed his first professional contract with ASSE on Monday alongside sporting director Loïc Perrin and Laurent Huard, director of the Saint-Étienne training center.
Born on January 5, 2008, Paul Eymard gave himself a nice gift on his 18th birthday! The Saint-Étienne midfielder, who started Saturday's game against Le Mans (0-0), signed his first professional contract with ASSE. The young player joined the club in 2022 and first learned his trade in Auvergne with Velay FC, then played for two seasons with partner club Le Puy Foot 43.
Arriving in Forez at the age of 14, Paul Eymard began his adventure in Saint-Étienne in the U15 team. Quickly promoted to the national championships, both U17 and U19, the midfielder soon made his debut in National 3: at the age of 16, against Chambéry in December 2024.
With his impressive skills, Paul Eymard quickly caught the eye of the French Football Federation. Called up to play for France at the age of 15, he now has 26 caps to his name and was a finalist in the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, just a few months after winning the prestigious Montaigu Tournament in 2024.
After four appearances as a professional (2 goals), Paul Eymard has reached a new milestone in his career by signing his first professional contract! The young midfielder is now tied to ASSE until 2028.
Paul Eymard : "I am very happy and proud to sign my first professional contract with the club that trained me. I am delighted that things have come to fruition on my 18th birthday. I now want to get as much playing time as possible with the professional team and help secure promotion, which I hope will happen for the whole squad and all the Green Army fans!"
Loïc Perrin, Sport's Directoreym de l’ASSE : "We are very happy that Paul has signed his first professional contract. He is keen to commit to the club that trained him. He is a well-rounded, modern player with a lot of potential who can go far. But before that, he has some steps to take with the professional team, where he has been gaining confidence over the past few weeks."
