For what reasons you have prolonged your contract with ASSE?

I chose to continue because when you have the coach’s confidence and that of his staff, when you see the enthusiasm of the fans, the extraordinary atmosphere created by the team it’s an obvious choice. With the extension of Mathieu Debuchy’s contract and the arrival of Wahbi Khazri, the choice to continue with the Verts was the best decision. Why leave why you feel great somewhere? Here, I’m happy, we could only continue our adventure together. It’s always flattering when other clubs take an interest in you but my number one objective has always been to continue with ASSE.

How do you judge your first few months wearing the green jersey?

I want more. I arrived in the middle of the season, I didn’t have the time to prepare myself well. Since we started training again, I’ve followed my physical regime to the letter, if all goes well, I’ll be better than I was last season.

What goals have you set for yourself?

To play well and the maximum number of matches. For collective objectives, the coach will wait until the team is complete to set them. The fact that the framework of the team has been conserved is an advantage because the players know each other well. We’ve learned to play together, the goal is to continue the momentum we generated at the end of last season.

You know Wahbi Khazri well since the two of you played together for Sunderland. Were you been in contact with him before he signed with ASSE?

We spoke on the telephone, I spoke to him about the club and I believe what I said pleased him. I’m very happy that he’s with us. He’ll contribute enormously to the team.
