"L'Épopée des Verts" 50th anniversary Musée des Verts Wednesday 13 May 2026 à 14h28

We loved them movie so much!

May 12, 1976, Glasgow. AS Saint-Étienne loses the European Champions Cup final to Bayern Munich. The next day, all of France takes to the streets to celebrate its players.

Saint-Étienne, the 1970s. The mining town is slowly dying out. The blast furnaces are shutting down. The workers are searching for a new horizon. And then came Les Verts, and suddenly everyone was looking in the same direction. Fifty years later, the men who wore the green jersey are finally speaking out.

With rare sincerity and emotion, Jean-Michel Larqué and his teammates take us back to the decade when anything was possible. Alongside them, the curator of the Les Verts museum reconstructs the context of that era against a backdrop of previously unseen INA and Pathé Gaumont archival footage. A deep dive into what time does to men who have touched greatness. And into what sports do for the people who need them.

Featuring testimonials from: Jean-Michel Larqué, Jacques Santini, Christian Sarramagna, Hervé Revelli, Patrick Revelli, Maxime Bossis, Alain Giresse, Thierry Rey, Alex Mahinc, and Philippe Gastal; directed by Bruno Sevaistre, co-written with Denis Chaumier
