Valentin Vada: "Very proud to wear this shirt"
For his first press conference, the midfielder announced that he was pleased that he had joined ASSE and announced his desire to help the Verts to achieve their objective.
What motivated you to sign with ASSE?
Saint-Étienne is the club that suits me. It resembles an Argentinian club with the fervour of the fans and the pressure that goes with that. That pushes you to surpass yourself. And then the game style of the team suits me perfectly.
How did your arrival conclude?
Everything happened very quickly but I’m very happy to be here with you and to wear this jersey. The coach called me and he convinced me. It’s a proud moment when a very great coach calls you and I know his style well. I also know Wahbi (Khazri), with whom I played in Bordeaux before he left for Sunderland, Mathieu (Debuchy) and Loïs (Diony), that was a deciding factor for me. The importance of the club was a deciding factor also. It really makes me think of the Argentinian clubs. I already feel at home here.
What qualities will allow you to make a difference?
I’m a versatile midfielder capable of playing to support the striker that it to say in the heart of the game The coach expects me to be dynamic and technical and I do not doubt my abilities. I know that I can bring much to the team in order to help them to achieve their goals. I’m going to work to have the game time that I no longer had in Bordeaux.
