To celebrate Saint Barbe's day, ASSE and hummel draw inspiration from the history of Saint-Étienne.
On Miners' Day, AS Saint-Étienne and its equipment supplier, hummel, celebrate the mining heritage of an entire city.
Until its closure in 1973, the Couriot Shaft, the main shaft of the Loire Mines, set the pace for Saint-Étienne, its city and its inhabitants. Its history and values have lived on since 1991 thanks to the Mining Museum, a listed historical monument, and more recently through the celebration of Saint Barbara, patron saint of miners, celebrated this Saturday throughout France.

More than just a jersey, a tribute
AS Saint-Étienne and hummel unveil today a special jersey designed by Léa Bourgier, a fashion designer from Saint-Étienne. This long-sleeved jersey, intended solely for supporters, brings the blue work shirt back into fashion. With its polo collar, white cuffs, embellished club logo on the pocket, and ice axes on the chest, it allows you to proudly wear your values every day.
This limited edition jersey will be available for purchase tomorrow, Tuesday, at 10 a.m. at the Verts store and online for €55.95, in sizes XS to XXXL.
Like all products from the “Steph'” cultural label, the profits generated by this sale will be used to support regional cultural events. In particular, this jersey will lead to donations to the Sainte-Barbe association, which has been organizing festivities in the city center for the past five years, and “Les Amis du musée de la Mine de Saint-Étienne” (Friends of the Saint-Étienne Mining Museum), which enriches the museum's collections to promote its development.
Kids' Club at the Little Miners' Ball
Place Waldeck-Rousseau will come alive this Saturday, December 6, with free entertainment for kids. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Sainte-Barbe association will offer snacks for everyone, music, and games, in addition to the ASSE Kids' Club stands.
Party in the city center
With the support of the Sainte-Barbe association, AS Saint-Étienne invites residents of Saint-Étienne and visitors to take part in the many activities offered by establishments in the city center, culminating in the grand ball at the end of the Fil, not to mention the unmissable fireworks display at 8 p.m. from the Chevalement du Musée de la Mine. Before this weekend of celebrations, a few events will be offered starting this Wednesday at various locations in the city center.
