The Greens come back empty-handed
After putting in a strong performance against Lyon at home last weekend, Saint-Étienne traveled to the capital and lost to Paris FC at Charlety on Saturday evening (2-0).
Context
On the third day of the Arkema Première Ligue, Les Vertes travel to Paris FC's Charlety stadium with the intention of pulling off a coup that would see them score their first points of the season against one of the giants of the championship. After a disappointing start to the season, Sébastien Joseph's players hope to take advantage of their freshness against a Parisian side that has been playing back-to-back matches in the league and European Cup.
Starting XI
Sébastien Joseph makes just one change to his 5-4-1 formation from last week's game against Lyon. Sarah Cambot makes way for Rachel Corboz in midfield.

Game scenario
Facing a very strong Arkema Première Ligue team, Les Vertes started with defensive intentions and the desire to try their luck on the counterattack. Unfortunately, shortly before the end of the first quarter of an hour, and after a superb pass from Mathéo, who was very prominent in this match, Le Moguedec opened the scoring (1-0, 13th), forcing Sébastien Joseph's players to open up. Azzaro even had the opportunity to double Paris FC's lead, but her shot hit Alice Pinguet's right post and Mathéo was unable to get to the ball in time due to Aleksandra Gajic's heroic return to her line.In the second half, Saint-Étienne tried to break down the solid Paris FC defense. Sébastien Joseph opted for a change of system, switching to a 4-3-3 formation with Welma Fon coming on on the right and Adèle Connesson on the left. Despite this move, Paris FC doubled their lead thanks to a goal from Matheo, who took advantage of a counterattack (2-0, 57'). With few chances and offensive opportunities, Les Vertes were unable to get back into the game despite late chances from Adèle Connesson. The Forez players conceded a third consecutive defeat in a series of matches that they knew would be difficult but full of lessons for the team's progress.
Coming next
The next chapter will be written at the Chaudron, against Marseille, next Saturday (October 4, 5 p.m.). The Saint-Étienne women will need your support for this important match against a direct rival! Season ticket holders can already pick up an invitation at the official ticket office.
