The future of French arbitration is being shaped at L'Étrat
Thirty referees gathered at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center at the end of December for a training day organized by the AURA League and AS Saint-Étienne, with the aim of reaching regional level.
For the first time, the Aura League's regional refereeing committee organized three meetings at the end of December, in Annecy, Clermont, and Saint-Étienne, to meet with young referees wishing to advance to the regional level.
Around thirty referees working at district level attended the meeting held at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center. During a busy day, and following an introduction by Samuel Rustem, Deputy General Manager, they had the opportunity to talk with Michel Dolmadjian, a former national referee, and Michel Girard, a former international referee who now works for AS Saint-Étienne. Tests, awareness-raising, and mock exams to qualify for the regional level were on the agenda for the future of French refereeing.
