Thank You Maryne Gignoux!

After four full seasons with AS Saint-Étienne, goalkeeper Maryne Gignoux-Soulier has announced her retirement from professional football. Her final appearance came on December 7, 2024, during the match against Guingamp, which concluded the 2024–25 Arkema Première Ligue season.

On Wednesday, following the final match of the Arkema Première Ligue season at Guingamp, Maryne Gignoux announced her retirement from professional football, concluding an eleven-season career at the highest level, including four years with AS Saint-Étienne.

Born in Nîmes and trained at Montpellier HSC, Gignoux began her professional career at just 18 years old with Guingamp. Fittingly, she chose to end her journey on the very pitch where it all started, having played 168 matches in the top division.

Joining AS Saint-Étienne in 2021, Gignoux quickly established herself as a leader both on and off the field. Known for her high standards and ability to uplift her teammates, she played a pivotal role in the team's promotion to the Arkema Première Ligue at the end of the 2022–2023 season, conceding only 13 goals over 22 matches.

Throughout her tenure with the team, Gignoux embodied the club's values with unwavering commitment and determination, honoring the jersey in every match. The entire club extends its heartfelt gratitude and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.
