Strahinja Stojkovic joins AS Saint-Étienne
This Friday, AS Saint-Étienne and Red Star Belgrade reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Strahinja Stojkovic, an 18-year-old Serbian defender.

At 18 years old, Strahinja Stojkovic is the new face of Les Verts ! Born in Serbia, in the heart of the capital, Belgrade, the young footballer played so far for only one club : Red Star. After starting football wearing the red and white colors at the age of 7, the defender rose through the ranks, reaching one of the most renowned training centers in Europe.
Alongside his career at Serbia's most successful club academy, Strahinja Stojkovic joined the Serbian national team at U15 level and has earned 10 caps for his country, which he currently represents at U19 level. Still with the U19s, but this time with his club, the new Green player recently took part in the group stage of the Youth League.
Since the beginning of 2025, Strahinja Stojkovic has been alternating between the equivalent of Red Star's reserve team, its satellite club FK Grafičar, which plays in the second division (seven games), and his first appearances with Red Star's first team (six games). Last May, just after turning 18, he played the entire match against Mladost Lucani, which saw Red Star win its eleventh title in its history.
Powerful right-back and promising young player who will wear the number 2 jersey, Strahinja Stojkovic joins Eirik Horneland's professional squad, where he will be reunited with Ebenezer Annan, who also arrived from Belgrade this week. He is now under contract with ASSE until 2029.
Strahinja Stojkovic: “Joining AS Saint-Étienne is a big step in my career. It's a source of great pride for me and my family. I'm looking forward to continuing my development in France at this ambitious club.”
Eirik Horneland, coach of Les Verts: “He is a young player with great potential and impressive physical qualities. He is already sharp. He is a full-back capable of contributing offensively while also providing solid defense. Despite his young age, he has already played with the first team and will continue his development with us.”
Strahinja Stojkovic's “Vert l'Avenir” commitment
