Stéphane Ruffier is the best Vert of the season!

Stéphane Ruffier has been elected the best player of 2017-18 season by ASSE fans who voted for him on the club's official website. The Verts' goalie is now used to receiving this prize as he was already awarded it four times in the last seven years… With 37% of votes, he finished ahead of Remy Cabella and Mathieu Debuchy.

Again this season, Stéphane Ruffier delivered outstanding performances and achieved his 100th clean sheet in Ligue 1 in Montpellier, where  he also stopped a penalty kick. He also had a big part to play in the 13-games undefeated streak between January and May.

He received his prize on Wednesday evening in the Hôtel “La Charpinière” in Saint-Galmier in front of the whole team and the Sports staff. The Club partners were also invited to this event.

"I am very proud to receive this award said the goalie on stage. I am especially proud because it is thanks to the Stéphanois fans”. Roland Romeyer, the President, handed the prize to Stéphane Ruffier and confessed he has “a huge admiration for him as he is one of the greatest goalies. I thank him because he has been trusting the club for 7 years”.
