Samuel Grau Garcia will represent Spain at the Euro
Before starting his second season with Les Verts, the player, who plays for the ASSE Cœur-Vert AÉSIO mutuelle reserve team, will participate in the Nations Cup de Foot-Fauteuil under the Spanish flag.

Member of the ASSE Cœur-Vert AÉSIO mutuelle reserve team and captain of the Spanish national team since its creation four years ago, Samuel Grau Garcia is one of eight players selected by the Spanish national wheelchair soccer team coach for the upcoming Nations Cup!
With seven goals, including a hat trick in 14 games wearing the green jersey, the Saint-Étienne player, who celebrated his birthday yesterday, will travel to Italy to compete in his first major official competition with the fledgling Spanish Wheelchair Soccer Team.
I am extremely proud.
“Representing your country and wearing the captain's armband is a great honor,” says Samuel Grau Garcia. “In Sports, it's the best thing that can happen to any athlete. I'm extremely proud, but also aware of the responsibility that comes with it.”
“Underdog of the competition,” in his own words, Spain is aiming for a place in the top five, which would mean direct qualification for the next World Cup. A “difficult challenge,” according to the ASSE Cœur-Vert AÉSIO mutuelle player, who will face another Vert, Jonathan Détrier, in his first match. “I can't wait to play against Jonathan, even though I know it will be tough against France, which is the best team in the world.”
Following Jonathan Détrier's selection for the French national team, AS Saint-Étienne is delighted to see two of its wheelchair soccer players representing their country at the international level. The club is also particularly proud to see ASSE Cœur-Vert AÉSIO mutuelle combining the promotion of sport for everyone with competition at the highest level.
