Ryad Boudebouz : "Prove that I haven't lost anything"
The Algerian midfielder, returning to Ligue 1 Conforama after his time in Spain, is motivated and determined. The number 7 Stéphanois has begun to adapt to his new environment on Ghislain Printant’s team.
Why did you choose to join ASSE?
I know Jean-Louis Gasset and Ghislain Printant very well. Last season, when I was watching ASSE play, with their atmosphere and performance, I already wanted to join them. Contacts were made and I am very happy to be here today.
What are your goals on a personal level?
I want to play, to regain my favourite position, where I feel the best. I want to prove to myself that I haven’t lost anything, that I’m still able to pass well and to score. The goal is to be as efficient as possible for the team.
Do you already have some affinity for your new teammates?
I know Wahbi Khazri well. I’ve also rubbed shoulders with Romain Hamouma during our joint visit to the Sochaux Academy. I was also able to see that I was getting along well with Denis Bouanga and Loïs Diony.
What is your view of the upcoming season in your new colours?
Sainté is going to be eagerly awaited, we’ll have to play good matches, work between training sessions and rest well in order to be able to consecutively win matches in the best way. There will also be the European Cup. We’ll have to be well placed in four rankings. I have the chance to play it with Bétis, which gives me a surplus of interesting motivation.
