Pink and Proud, ASSE continues its commitment to fighting breast cancer

This October, AS Saint-Étienne is rolling out a major campaign of actions and communications to raise awareness about the fight against the most common cancer among women: breast cancer.

Octobre Rose

61,214 is the number of breast cancers detected in 2023! One-third of these cases could have been prevented through simple preventive measures, repeated each year during Pink October. This annual campaign, launched in 1985, centers around the pink ribbon and has a single goal: to raise awareness among each and every one of us about the importance of screening for this disease.

Raising awareness among the Peuple Vert

Starting this Saturday, Le Chaudron will launch its Octobre Rose campaign with the Arkema Première Ligue match between ASSE and Marseille (5 p.m.). During this match, and during all Ligue 2 BKT home games, the stadium's giant screens will broadcast messages provided by the League Against Cancer to raise awareness among female fans about self-examination and, at the same time, convey important information.

A special jersey

As was the case last season, a “Octobre Rose” jersey has been designed to promote this public awareness campaign. This special jersey, available in green and pink, will be sold in limited quantities at the Boutique des Verts and online. Profits will be donated to the League Against Cancer, which works to support research and patients.

Worn by Les Vertes throughout the month, starting this Saturday against Marseille, this jersey will also be worn by Les Verts when they host Pau (October 28, 8:30 p.m.).

An auction to benefit the League Against Cancer

The October Rose jerseys worn or prepared for Sébastien Joseph's female players and Eirik Horneland's male players will also be auctioned off at the end of the month. All proceeds will be donated by ASSE Cœur-Vert to the Loire Committee of the League Against Cancer.

A micro-donation on the Official Ticket Office

Throughout Octobre Rose, the Official Ticket Office will be taking action by allowing fans to make a micro-donation when purchasing tickets online during the month of October. Once again, the amount raised will be donated to the League Against Cancer.

A special event dedicated to women, Wednesday, October 8

In collaboration with the Loire Committee of the League Against Cancer, ASSE Cœur-Vert is hosting a “Health and Well-being” afternoon entitled “Stronger Together” on Wednesday, October 8, at Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium. Open to club players, employees, and patients affected by cancer, this event will combine a conference with several awareness-raising and relaxation workshops. Beyond the activities on offer, this event will be a special opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of taking care of each other and getting to know their bodies better.

Our partners are also committed!

Like AS Saint-Étienne, its partners, faithful to the values shared by the club, are also getting involved in Pink October. Kelyps Intérim, for example, is changing its logos to pink throughout the month, which will also feature prevention communications. The major partner of Les Verts and official partner of Les Vertes will also see 15 of its employees take part in Sainté Rose, scheduled for Sunday, October 5, in the streets of Saint-Étienne.

Crédit Agricole will also be represented by nearly 100 employees at La Sainte Rose. At the same time, an internal awareness campaign has been launched, featuring testimonials from women affected by the disease. Financial support for charity races planned for Octobre Rose is also being provided in the Loire and Haute-Loire regions.

The Casino Group is also taking advantage of this month of action to raise awareness among its employees through internal events. A conference on “Cancer and Employment,” a self-examination workshop, and a presentation by the League Against Cancer are among the events planned. The Loire Department has been illuminating its buildings since October 1 and will continue to do so until the end of the month.

In addition to its commitment to AS Saint-Étienne, hummel is spreading the message of prevention and awareness through numerous collaborations with other sports clubs.

Finally, AÉSIO Mutuelle, represented at the event organized by ASSE Cœur-Vert, “Stronger Together,” will welcome members to its branches throughout October for a rejuvenating experience. On October 9, AÉSIO is also organizing a show at the Espace Pinatel in Saint-Genest-Lerpt, EX UTERO, followed by a round table discussion with the participation of the League Against Cancer in the presence of Dr. Quentin Reboul, gynecologist and obstetrician. This free event is already sold out.
