Les Vertes strengthen their roster with Céleste Delcroix

A defender coming from Lille who has earned her place on the French youth national team, Céleste Delcroix is one of the new faces on Yannick Chandioux’s Les Vertes.

Born in Calais, Céleste Delcroix started playing at AS Marck and trained in Lille, before she decided to leave her native Pas-de-Calais to move to the Loire region! A resident of Lille since 2021, the new Saint-Étienne player first kicked a ball around with the boys’ team at AS Marck before joining the Pôle Espoirs de Liévin and quickly earning her first call-ups to the French U16 national team.

Shortly thereafter, in the summer of 2021, Céleste Delcroix joined LOSC. She quickly made a name for herself there: first with the U19s, then with the first team, for which she made her debut in the Arkema Première Ligue during the 2023–2024 season before settling into the Seconde Ligue, where she has played a total of 35 matches, including 20 starts in as many games last season.

But it was also with the French national team that Céleste Delcroix truly made a name for herself. At just 20 years old, the defender already has 34 caps. The new LOSC player, a 2023 U17 European champion, is also a U19 European runner-up and was most recently called up to the French U23 team.

Hailing from northern France, Céleste Delcroix is now poised to give her career a new boost. The defender is among the new faces joining Yannick Chandioux’s squad just a few weeks before the Second Division resumes. Welcome, Céleste!

Céleste Delcroix:I am proud to join the Saint-Étienne project. I’m going to give it my all alongside my teammates to secure promotion to the Arkema Première Ligue. At the same time, I can’t wait to explore the city and its surroundings!

Yannick Chandioux, coach of Les Vertes:Céleste is a player who started competing at the highest level from a young age. She also has international experience, having recently been called up to the U23 team. She’s a modern fullback who likes to contribute offensively down her wing, with a real ability to make defensive plays during transitions.

Céleste Delcroix’s “Vert l’Avenir” Commitment

As part of its “Vert l’Avenir” CSR initiative, AS Saint-Étienne offers each of its employees—including its players—the opportunity to get involved in one of the four focus areas of its ASSE Cœur-Vert association: Environment, Citizenship, Sports for All, and Health.

As for her, Céleste Delcroix has chosen to focus specifically on health.
