Les Vertes get a point!

Facing Fleury on Saturday afternoon, Sébastien Joseph's Les Vertes earned a well-deserved point in a goalless draw (0-0).

Context

After a narrow defeat at Bollaert against Lens last Friday, Les Vertes travel to Île-de-France this Saturday to face Fleury, a strong team in the league. It will be an opportunity to see former Verte Cindy Caputo, now playing in white and red.

Starting XI

Sébastien Joseph opts for a 4-3-3 formation at Robert-Bobin. In front of Alice Pinguet, Héloïse Mansuy, Déborah Bien-Aimé, Aleksandra Gajic, and Kedie Johnson form the green back line. In front of them, Faustine Bataillard, Sarah Cambot, and Rachel Corboz lead the midfield, while Adèle Connesson, Welma Fon, and Sofie Hornenamnn line up on the front line.

Game scenario

In the first ten minutes, Rachel Corboz created the first chance of the game with a free kick, but her attempt was off target (8'). At the other end, Floriacum's first shot met the same fate (11'). The second attempt, by Cindy Caputo, was also off target, despite her ideal position to curl the ball in (24'). Sofie Hornemann received the ball on the left wing, used her shoulder to beat her opponent with a nutmeg, and then sent in a powerful shot that was saved by a superb save from Picaud (33'). Adèle Connesson's shot a few moments later was on target but lacked power (37th minute). At the other end, Alince Pinguet kept a close eye on her line, making three important saves in the last quarter of an hour to keep a clean sheet.

Back from the locker room, Adèle Connesson received a second ball from a free kick, but her volley flew over the bar (46'). Sofie Hornemann's shot was punched away by Picaud (59'). At the other end of the pitch, the home side were awarded an indirect free kick in the penalty area, benefiting from another refereeing error. Their attempt was stopped by Sarah Cambot, who sacrificed herself (68'). There were few chances to report after that, but the Greens' solidarity was rewarded with a point from a draw away to the fifth-placed team in the league.

Coming next

The Greens will end 2025 at home against Dijon on Saturday, December 20 (9 p.m.). To celebrate Christmas in the Arkema Première Ligue, there will be lots of entertainment on offer for the Green Army.
