Jean-Louis Gasset : «We will only play difficult games»
If ASSE now has every weapon in its arsenal that it needs thanks to the winter transfer window, Jean-Louis Gasset hopes that the Greens now have the touch of madness they need in order to dominate their match against Caen.
Is the transfer window closed?
Many things can still happen before January 31st. For everyone’s sake, I’d like the team to be more limited in terms of its number of players because with a team of 25 players, the rest of the season will be very long for those who don’t play regularly.
How important is the match against Caen?
It’s an important match but we will only play difficult matches until the end of the season. That’s the fate of teams that don’t begin their season well. Today, our team appears coherent on a blackboard, now me must play and win. The poorly ranked teams know that they will play winner-takes-all-matches for the whole season. When I consider our performances in Nice and Troyes, I say to myself that we are capable of putting ourselves in survival mode as well. What other teams don’t have is our fans. Tomorrow I hope that everyone will be ready for the match, the players first of all and our supporters as well.
What is your opinion of your next adversary?
They have a very direct game with Santini and Rodelin who play offense. They take corner and free kicks well and they have Féret playing midfield who is a very good player. We have to put our best foot forward like we did in Nice but with a bit more folie.
