Hallie Meadows is Green !
Tenth summer signing for Les Vertes! Originally from the United States, Hallie Meadows, a 23-year-old defender, joins AS Saint-Étienne in Arkema Première Ligue.
Born in a family of athletes, with a father who played American football in the NFL, Hallie Meadows started playing soccer at the age of 4. Native of Indiana, she grew up in Alabama, near Birmingham. Her soccer career began during her teenage years, playing for the Tophat Soccer Club near Atlanta.
In 2020, Hallie Meadows joined the University of South Carolina and its women's team. Between 2020 and 2024, the defender made her mark on the field, naturally establishing herself as a leader, despite physical setbacks that forged her mental strength. As a member of the Southeastern Conference, one of the most competitive in the country, she won the championship in 2022.
Captain of the University of South Carolina in 2023 and 2024, Hallie Meadows is now ready to make a great step to another level of soccer, that of the Arkema Première Ligue. Solid defender, the American is the tenth recruit of the summer for Les Vertes, where she will wear the number 28 jersey!
Hallie Meadows: “I am truly grateful to be joining Saint-Étienne and to have the opportunity to play in France. It's a dream coming true in many ways, and I am really enthusiastic. I can't wait to grow, both as a player and as a person, through everything this adventure will bring me.”
Sébastien Joseph, coach of Les Vertes: “Hallie is a player who will be discovering the French league. She is powerfull athletically, very gifted in the aerial game and she is intelligent in her playmaking. She should enable us to gain strength in our defensive line.”
Hallie Meadows' “Vert l'Avenir” commitment
As part of its “Vert l'Avenir” CSR initiative, AS Saint-Étienne gives the opportunity to all of its employees, including players, to commit to one of the four areas of focus of its ASSE Cœur-Vert association: Environment, Citizenship, Sport for All, and Health.
Hallie Meadows will be involved this season in promoting Sport for All.
