Franck Honorat : "Eager to meet everyone"
Stéphanois since August 2018 but loaned for one season to Clermont Foot 63, the striker trained in Nice announced, during his presentation to the media, his impatience to return to ASSE.
In what mindset did you tackle the resumption of the training sessions?
Everything went very well. The staff and the experienced players made me feel confident throughout the course of the first session during which we touched the ball for the first time following a month of rest. So everything’s going better! There was a lot of impatience. It was long, I had a long vacation, during which I worked a lot in order to be at my peak level of performance and tackle our preparation as well as possible. Today, I was eager to meet everyone.
What was your experience of your season on loan to Clermont Foot 63?
I was on cloud 9 when I signed in August. I needed a month to get back down to earth and concentrate 100% on my season with Clermont. Despite everything, I was keeping up with ASSE’s matches. I had one wish: to return to Saint-Étienne. I think I had an okay season (4 goals, 10 assists), even if I would have like to have been more decisive. Today, my goal is to remain on ASSE’s team and to play as many matches as possible. Playing will allow me to progress and to consider other goals.
In what areas must you exactly progress?
If speed and impact are my main qualities, I have to progress a lot in scoring goals, by proving to be more clear-headed. I have no doubts about the fact that experienced players present on the team will help me to accomplish this. I like playing on the right wing, it’s in that area of the field that I feel most at ease.
What does ASSE represent for you?
It’s an incredible, historic club, with true fans who push you forward. I have only one desire: to establish myself and be decisive here.
