Disappointing content

It was a poor performance from us. First, I would like to pay hommage to Boulogne for their performance. They made our task difficult. I don't think we took this match seriously enough; we didn't do enough. Every weekend, we have to attack every match with everything we've got, respecting the game and with the desire to produce something. Tonight, we were simply static, especially in the first half. It wasn't good enough at all. In the second half, it was a little better. Let's say we created more chances and were more forward-thinking. It was a little better. Defensively, we handled Boulogne and their counterattacks fairly well until we scored. But then, in my opinion, we should have shown more control to better manage the end of the game.

Do more

The victory is there, but I don't think we should be satisfied with that. It's good to win, to keep a clean sheet, to be on top of the league. But when you're Saint-Étienne, you have to do more. Tonight, we didn't prove enough that we have quality players. Even though we made a few adjustments after the break, I can't be satisfied with our performance. Here in Boulogne, we wanted to build on our success against Rodez, but tonight, it's more like a step backward.

He's a top player. He had a complicated preseason, so he can still give more. But he's a decisive player who has scored two goals in two matches. He brings a lot to this team, as we saw in the play that led to the goal. (...) Lucas Stassin, too, can still give more. He's been training for several weeks, but playing a match is always different.
