Eirik Horneland: “We can't be satisfied with a draw”
Frustrated by Les Verts' 3-3 draw with Laval, Eirik Horneland spoke at a press conference about the season opener in Ligue 2 BKT.

A frustrating first half
We got off to a decent start. We were pretty comfortable with the ball in the first half. But we conceded our first goal when we gave them a chance on the counter-attack, and then conceded a second when we misjudged a long ball. We can't accept goals like that. But we showed ourselves to be dangerous, we had opportunities to score goals. At 2-2, we knew we could still score, but we also knew we could concede, because Laval had some great transition phases that we have to give credit to.
A more disjointed second act
In the second half, we were a little passive. We made a number of changes which were designed to help us regain control of the ball. The match was fairly open, with chances on both sides. Defensively, there was still too much space between our players, and the lines were too stretched. In the end, we can't be satisfied with this draw, but we need to build on it.
Some interesting personal performances
Augustine Boakye and Ebenezer Annan, like Aïmen Moueffek, came off with cramps. These players still need minutes to improve physically, but their performances are already encouraging. I said before the start of the season that physically, the start of the season could be a little difficult. But little by little, we'll get up to full speed. It's not easy to play a match with a team that has to cope with absences and welcomes new players. But this group is made up of good footballers, and when they connect, they do great things together.
