Eirik Horneland: "From the bottom of my heart, to the supporters, to this city, I am truly sorry"
After ASSE-Toulouse (2-3), and the relegation of the Verts to the second division, Eirik Horneland addressed the press.
"First of all, I have to say that from the bottom of my heart, to the supporters, to this city, I am truly sorry. I take full responsibility for this failure; I did not come in January to see this club relegated. Tonight, we had five good minutes at the start before conceding the first goal too easily, as we've done too often this season. After that, we lost energy, we suffered, and we couldn’t produce anything. It was too easy for them to hurt us.
Florian Tardieu's goal gave us some energy, it gave us hope. But in the second half, we again lacked quality. Overall, it was a poor performance from us. We failed to win two games in a row this season, which means a lot. We showed some good things at times, but never with consistency. That reflects the difficulty of our season."
