Ebenezer Annan joins Les Verts' left flank !
Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan joins Eirik Horneland's defense from Red Star Belgrade. The 22-year-old signed with AS Saint-Étienne until 2028.
Born in Ghana, in the heart of its capital Accra, Ebenezer Annan started football on the shores of the South Atlantic. As a young teenager, he moved to Italy, where his talent with the ball caught the attention of Bologna FC. He joined the Emilia-Romagna club's academy and rose through the ranks of the youth teams before earning his place in the professional squad. In January 2022, he was just 19 years old when he played his first Serie A match against Hellas Verona, a few months after making an appearance in the Italian Cup.
In the summer of 2022, Ebenezer Annan was loaned to Imolese for his first experience in adult football in Serie C. He played 28 games before leaving for a second loan spell the following season, this time in Serbia, playing for FK Novi Pazar in the first division. After 32 games, the defender impressed his club, which signed him permanently in 2024 before an impressive first half of the season, with 19 games for the southern Serbian club.
This winter, Red Star Belgrade was seduced by Ebenezer Annan. Signed in February, the Ghanaian, who became an international player in 2024, took part in 19 matches, becoming Serbian champion and winning the Serbian Cup with Red Star.
Now, the next chapter in the career of 22-year-old Ebenezer Annan will be written in France! The left-back signed with ASSE until 2028, where he will wear the number 19 jersey. Welcome!
Ebenezer Annan: “I am very happy to sign for AS Saint-Étienne. The club is building a good team, has a great staff, and enjoys tremendous support from its fans. It is an honor for me to join this club. I will give my all in every game to help the team achieve its goals.”
Eirik Horneland, AS Saint-Étienne's coach: “Ebenezer is a powerful left-back who gives a lot for the team. He's an interesting player all along his wing. He comes from Red Star Belgrade, a big club that knows how to play high-stakes games. He knows what it's like to play under pressure. He also has experience playing international games with Ghana. We can't wait to get to work with him.
