Discover the 2018-2019 schedule!
The Verts now know their schedule for next season, which will begin August 11 with the reception of Guingamp in the Geofrroy-Guichard stadium.
The Verts will begin this next season just as they began their last, on their home turf. This time, it’s Guingamp who will come to challenge ASSE in the Cauldron, Saturday August 10th. The Green People will finally be able to return to their lucky stadium, which they left following an amazing offensive match against LOSC May 19th (5-0).
The first few weeks of the competition will be lively ones for the Verts. After the initial duel against the Bretons, the Stéphanois will travel for two consecutive matches: in Strasbourg then in Montpellier (Match Days 2 and 3). Before the first international break, Jean-Louis Gasset and his players will receive Amiens (Match Day 4).
The two dates that the Stéphanois supporters will check off first and foremost are of course those of the derby against OL. The first round will take place in the Groupama Stadium, the weekend of the 24th of November (Match Day 14). The second and final round, which will thus take place in the Cauldron, will arrive quickly: January 20th, 2019 (Match Day 21).
Other great matches include the one against Paris Saint-Germain, the defending champion of France. The Stéphanois will visit the Parc des Princes just after the first international break, the weekend of September 15th (Match Day 5). At this time PSG will be in full preparation for the Ligue des Champions, which will begin a few days later. PSG will then face ASSE on their home turf the 18th, 19th or 20th of January (Match Day 25).
The Verts will moreover receive teams for two of the last three matches of the first half of the season: OM, the second weekend of the month of December (Match Day 17) then Dijon FCO, two weeks later, for their last match of the calendar year (Match Day 19). 2019 will then begin with a trip to Guingamp, the second weekend of January (Match Day 20), after the traditional Coupe de France rendezvous.
The Geoffroy-Guichard stadium will have a role to play at the end of the season since ASSE will receive teams twice consecutively for their 36th and 37th match of the season. Montpellier, the weekend of May 11th, and Nice, the following week, will visit the Cauldron. The last weekend of the month of May, the Stéphanois will finish their season in Angers.
