Benoît Ragazzini, recruiter for Les Vertes
The women's section continues to build its structure with the arrival of Benoît Ragazzini as a recruiter. With a varied background in playing, professional coaching, and scouting, he brings his expertise to AS Saint-Étienne's women's soccer development project.
Les Vertes are strengthening their ranks with the arrival of Benoît Ragazzini as recruiter. A former player for Brives-la-Gaillarde, where he trained and played up to National 2 level, Benoît Ragazzini ended his playing career in 2002. From 2006 onwards, he coached at regional level for men for almost 10 years, and also worked as a scout in France for AC Milan (2020-2022). In 2022, Patrice Lair, who had coached him at Brives, brought him onto the professional staff at Girondines de Bordeaux, first as assistant coach in charge of video analysis, then as a recruiter. The experience was cut short when the club filed for bankruptcy.
After his time in Gironde, Benoît Ragazzini decided to continue working in recruitment, collaborating for over a year with players' agents in France and internationally. This allowed him to develop his specific expertise in women's soccer. During this period, he had the opportunity to work with AS Saint-Étienne. Now a recruiter for Les Vertes, this builder, who is interested in the long-term project proposed by AS Saint-Étienne, has gradually built up a solid network in France and abroad.
Benoît Ragazzini : « "I am very happy to be joining a healthy club with sincere people and strong enthusiasm. I have been very well received by everyone, I already feel fully integrated, highly motivated, and determined to invest myself in this project. I am convinced that the development of a women's club requires a recruitment unit. More and more French clubs are adopting this strategy, which enables them to take a step forward, attract high-potential players, and raise the overall level of the league."
Jean-Marc Barsotti, AS Saint-Étienne Association's President : "The club, in its desire to advance its women's section, is very pleased to welcome Benoît. His analysis, understanding, and experience of women's soccer are real assets that we can build on to continue to grow."
