Often selected by the Belgian national youth team, Welma Fon made her first-team debut in 2023.She has five caps for the Red Flames.
Welma Fon: "I'm delighted to join such a prestigious club as AS Saint-Étienne. I can't wait to discover this new family with whom I'll be sharing some great moments, both on and off the pitch. I'm also looking forward to discovering what it means to be a Stéphanoise, and getting to know the values of the club, the town and the people who live there. I couldn't have wished for a better start to this new adventure away from home!"
Sébastien Joseph, ASSE coach: "Welma is a player who's going to bring us a lot of speed, capable of eliminating, delivering assists, but also of scoring. She'll also bring us a dose of freshness, with a very positive state of mind for a group. This will be important throughout the season."
Welma Fon's “Vert l'Avenir” commitment
As part of its “Vert l'Avenir” CSR initiative, AS Saint-Étienne offers each of its employees, including its female players, the opportunity to commit to one of the four main topics of its ASSE Cœur-Vert association: Environment, Citizenship, Sport for all and Health.
