AS Saint-Étienne Academy continues to stand out in the Big 5 leagues.
In the latest CIES letter, the Saint-Étienne Academy ranks among the very best on the continent, ahead of prestigious teams.
The 529th weekly newsletter from the CIES Football Observatory ranks the clubs that have produced the most players currently playing in the big five leagues (Germany, England, Spain, Italy, France). AS Saint-Étienne and its training center stand out in particular in this regard!
Since January 1, 2016, AS Saint-Étienne has been the seventh European club to have trained the most talent (63) who have played in the Big 5 leagues, just ahead of Bayern Munich (62) and Ajax Amsterdam (61), and only behind Barcelona (109), Real Madrid (108), Manchester United (73), and three French clubs.
In France during the same period, only Paris Saint-Germain (89), Lyon (73), and Rennes (67) trained more players, but only Paris Saint-Germain fielded more of them in its own team (43) than ASSE (42) before seeing them go on to play for other clubs.
