Alice Pinguet, new goalkeeper of les Vertes !
22-year-old goalkeeper and French U23 international, Alice Pinguet, joins AS Saint-Étienne. She becomes the first player of the summer for the women team, now coached by Sébastien Joseph.

Born in Nevers, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, Alice Pinguet began her football journey at local clubs such as US Coulanges and FC Nevers 58. Initially an outfield player, she quickly discovered the goalkeeper position – a role she has never left. Playing with boys teams until the U13 level, she soon caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, which identified her potential early on. The capital club was not mistaken…
Arriving at PSG at the U16 level, Alice also trained at INSEP and made her mark on the pitch, notably winning the U19 French Championship in 2019. She progressed through the French national youth teams: U16, U17, U19, U20, and most recently U23. In 2020, she logically signed her first professional contract with PSG, before getting more experience on loan in Division 2, first with Le Havre (10 matches), then with GPSO Issy (15 matches).
She then moved up to the top flight, joining Dijon as a backup goalkeeper. She played four matches during the 2023-2024 season, including appearances in the Coupe de France. As Katriina Talaslahti's substitute, Alice featured in seven Arkema Première Ligue matches and 3 Coupe de France fixtures, achieving 6 clean sheets. Now, she’s set to defend les Vertes' goal with AS Saint-Étienne. Welcome Alice!
Alice Pinguet: “I’m really happy to join ASSE. It’s a club that marked my childhood, and I’ve supported it alongside my father. I’ve even been to the Chaudron as a fan! For this season in Green, my goal is to have a strong season both personally and collectively.”
Sébastien Joseph, head coach of les Vertes : “We’re delighted to welcome Alice, one of the top French prospects at this position, coming off a season that earned her a U23 call-up. She’s a complete goalkeeper – strong in the air, with her feet, in managing depth, and in communication. She also has the emotional resilience to perform in big matches.”
Alice Pinguet’s “Vert l’Avenir” Commitment
As part of the club’s CSR initiative “Vert l’Avenir,” AS Saint-Étienne invites all employees, including players, to get involved in one of the four commitments of the ASSE Coeur-Vert association: Environment, Citizenship, Sport for All, and Health.
This season, Alice Pinguet will take part in initiatives promoting Sport for All.
