"We remain fully committed to this club"
To the supporters and the community of AS Saint-Étienne,
When Kilmer Sports Ventures invested in AS Saint-Étienne, we did so with a long-term vision. We did not come to manage a season. We came to help build a club capable of sustained success, rooted in strong leadership, sound decision-making and a clear identity.
Over more than thirty years in professional sport, I have learned that lasting success is rarely the product of short-term reactions. It is built through stability, patience, investment and the willingness to stay committed to a plan, especially when progress is not immediate. I have seen this firsthand with the Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC. In both cases, meaningful achievements and titles came only after years of disciplined work and organizational continuity.
That experience shapes my conviction today. The responsibility of ownership is not to chase every moment or every emotion. It is to provide direction, resources and stability, while ensuring that the club is led by capable people who share a common vision for the future.
ASSE is a huge club, with a unique history and an extraordinary place in French football. But when we arrived, the club was not operating at the standards we all want for it. In many areas, deep structural work is required to build the foundations of a modern, stable and high-performing football organization.
That is the work currently underway. It is not always visible, and it does not always translate immediately into results. I fully understand that medium and long-term timelines can be difficult, and even frustrating, for supporters to hear, especially after a sporting disappointment. But this is how strong organizations are built.
At ASSE, I believe we have the foundations to build something strong and lasting. We have talented and committed people throughout the organization, and we remain focused on strengthening the club in every area. Like any ambitious organization, we must continue to learn, improve and hold ourselves to high standards. We must also do a better job of communicating our vision and explaining the work being done to support the club's long-term development.
Our commitment to AS Saint-Étienne is unchanged. We came here because this club is unique: its history, its supporters, its stadium, its city and its place in French football. We know what ASSE means, not only on the pitch but in the life of this city and region. This club carries a cultural, social and economic importance that goes far beyond football, and we understand the responsibility that comes with that.
The path forward requires ambition, but also consistency. It requires belief in a long-term project and the discipline to see it through. Those principles have guided me throughout my career in sport, and they will continue to guide our work at AS Saint-Étienne.
We are here for the long run. We remain fully committed to this club, to its supporters and to its future.
Allez les Verts.
