> Bernard Caïazzo (Chairman of the Supervisory Board): "We are very happy to welcome Claude with the people that he wished to have beside him. We were looking for a General Manager and after careful reflection with Roland Romeyer, we thought the it was the best solution to put Claude in the right mood. We are going through a difficult period. The budget for this season is a record budget for ASSE. We have reflected on solutions and there were not many. Claude Puel numbers among the twenty best Sports Managers in Europe. It has a been a long time that we have wanted to work with him. Claude is a builder, he makes the youths play and posses a profile to work with the future in mind. His philosophy pleases us. In regards of the shareholders, we are making a huge effort. He has demands consequently. We are on the same wavelength. In this type of situation, we cope by making the important decisions. That Claude wants to manage the team for the Derby is sacred proof of his courage. That only comforts us on our choice.”

> Roland Romeyer (Chairman of the Executive Board): "I am very proud of Claude’s arrival because he’s someone of whom I have been a fan because of his professionalism and his values. He’s a worker, humble, with the same values as ASSE. I’m here every day and very close with the ASSE Academy. This year, we won the Gambardella Cup. Claude, who is a builder, will be able to integrate the youths into the professional team. We’re realistic. We do not have the fortunes of some of the other clubs. Our objective is to train talented players taken into consideration by a builder-coach. Concerning the arrival of Jacky Bonnevay, he’s someone who I appreciate. I am happy that he has joined us. The two stakeholders are going to do as much as they can in order to make happy everyone who loves the club. I thank Claude for having agreed to come to ASSE.”
